PLEASE NOTE. The information below is a good reference about the annual details for our our mission trips, however, the information is subject to change as we move closer to planning our 2025 trip.

Dentists, Dental Hygienists, OB/Gynecologists, other medical personnel, and anyone with a heart to share Christ’s love and help those less fortunate are invited!

We invite you to experience the joy that only mission travel can offer. You will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with other team members and learn firsthand about the amazing things God is doing in Nicaragua. You will be meeting and supporting the missionaries who are working to further God’s purpose.

A child’s smile, a smile because reading glasses made the written word visible again, the excitement and pride of a graduation– these are but a few of the rewards you may receive. You will experience moments that can connect you to an individual, a family, or a missionary, and God’s Larger World, in a special way. Travel with Austin Samaritans to Nicaragua and know the joy of bringing Christ’s love and hope to His children in this beautiful, but impoverished, country.

 TRIP COST

The trip cost is $1000/person (which covers all in-country expenses such as housing, meals, and transportation) plus airfare and the cost of medical travel insurance. The trip cost does not include your expenditures traveling to and from Nicaragua, incidental expenditures in Nicaragua, or personal shopping.

You should acquire your own airplane ticket and medical travel insurance. The airfare to Managua is approximately $800–$1200, depending on date of purchase and extras selected. The application identifies the team flights. All team members should travel on the designated team flights.

We require trip members to have medical travel insurance, including coverage for medical evacuation. A good way to purchase medical travel insurance is to search on the web. One convenient source is a site called Squaremouth. The Squaremouth site allows you to select the amount of coverage you wish and whether you want to include coverage for trip interruption, lost baggage, etc. It provides comparisons of costs for a number of companies and a link to the company you choose. The cost, if you select only medical care/evacuation insurance and not trip interruption/lost baggage, etc, should be about $40.

PLEASE NOTE. The current processing time to obtain a passport is 4-to-6 weeks, not including time in the mail. If you do not use a priority express mail service, time in the mail can add as much as a month to the time it takes to get a passport. The processing time can be shortened if you use an expediter. With an expediter, the processing time is 2-to-3 weeks, not including time in the mail. This information is current as of May 14, 2025. Processing times can change; so please allow sufficient time.
