We recently received from Carolyn Sirker a year-end report for the El Samaritano Schools in Nicaragua. Austin Samaritans oversees a school sponsorship program that provides school basics and meals for these children so in need of being lifted from a cycle of poverty and malnutrition. Hear in these excerpts of her report how your contributions have helped and how welcome and appreciated they are.

I can't thank you enough for all the work that you have done this year to make the schools a success. I wish that everyone involved could have the experience of spending time here with the kids and see the fruits of their labors. I pray that the Lord blesses each one of you and your loved ones this Christmas season.

The director of the schools, Dona Maritza Cano and I have purposed to seriously accept Deuteronomy 6:4-9 as our school mandate. If we give a child the best education available but don’t teach him or her about the Lord, we have failed. We have vowed to share our Christian faith with every child and parent at every available opportunity and we are encouraging the teachers to do the same. Please keep this endeavor in your prayers as it is so easy to get “busy” and concentrate on other worthwhile but less important things.
